Your first task: let XiaoTin handle one thing for you
Choose XiaoTin, Run mode, and Ask every time to complete your first TabTin task.
Opened TabTin for the first time and not sure where to begin?
You do not need a complicated setup. Start with a real, small task: tell XiaoTin what you want done and let it carry out the work and produce the result.
We will use “Create my TabTin work-start checklist” as an example and complete your first task.
1. First time here? Start with the default XiaoTin
Choose the AI persona for this task at the lower-left of the input box.
If this is your first time, use the default XiaoTin. There is no need to create another AI persona yet.
Once you are comfortable with the basics, create personas for different kinds of work.
2. Choose Run mode
Next, set XiaoTin’s work mode to “Run.”
Run mode is for tasks you want XiaoTin to complete directly, such as:
- Create a document
- Organize a work checklist
- Work with existing materials
- Edit file contents
- Generate a concrete deliverable from your requirements
If you already know the result you want, start in Run mode.
3. First time here? Choose Ask every time
In the permission settings, choose “Ask every time.”
When this is enabled, XiaoTin shows you what it plans to create or change before acting, and you decide whether to allow it.
For a first TabTin session, this makes it easier to see how XiaoTin completes a task step by step.
4. Tell XiaoTin what you want to get done
Once the settings are ready, enter your task.
Example:
In the current workspace, create a document named “My TabTin work-start checklist.”
The document should include:
- Three things to confirm before starting work today;
- Three small goals that can be completed today;
- One concrete action for each goal;
- A checklist to review before leaving work.
Create it directly and save it as a TabDoc document.
When you are getting started, you do not need to learn complicated Prompts.
Just try to tell XiaoTin three things:
what you want it to do + your specific requirements + what you want at the end.
5. Review what XiaoTin is about to do
After you submit the task, XiaoTin interprets your request and plans the work it needs to do.
If the task involves creating or changing content, Ask every time shows a confirmation for the operation.
If everything looks right, click “Allow” and XiaoTin will continue.
6. Check the result
When the work is finished, XiaoTin tells you it is done and provides the deliverable.
In this example, it creates:
“My TabTin work-start checklist”
Open the document to see what it generated.
If the result is not quite what you wanted, you do not need to start over. Just tell XiaoTin what to change:
“Make the three small goals more specific.”
Or:
“Add a “Today’s review” section to the completion checklist.”
XiaoTin can continue editing from the current task.
Your first task is done
For your first TabTin session, remember this simple path:
Choose XiaoTin → choose Run mode → set Ask every time → describe the task → confirm the operation → check the result
You do not need to learn every feature or write a complicated Prompt first.
Start with one small thing you genuinely need to finish today, then hand it to XiaoTin.
