Personal account or team organization: which should I use?
Learn when to use your personal account and when to collaborate in a team organization.
When you first open TabTin, the top bar may show Personal account. This is your default identity, created at registration. It is ideal for exploring on your own and working one-on-one with Agent.
When you want to write docs with colleagues, assign Agent work, or create team projects, create a team organization. Think of it as a shared space for a company or group. These are not separate products, buttwo ways to work under one account.
The difference at a glance
| Personal account | team organization | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Explore individually and work with Agent on your own | Collaborate with colleagues and multiple Agent |
| How you get it | At registration Created automatically | You create an organizationor by invitation |
| Top bar shows | Personal account | Organization name, such as Mofan Tech |
| Invite teammates? | cannot | Yes |
| Create Projects? | cannot | Yes |
| Can it be deleted? | No (it stays with your account) | There is only owner Yes |
Personal account: your private workspace
After registration, TabTin automatically creates a Personal account. You can:
- Start chatting with Agent immediately and try TabDoc, TabData, and other apps
- Management Manage your own plan, credits, and model settings
- The top bar always shows Personal accountrather than a team name
What a personal account cannot do
- Cannot invite teammates — opening Settings → Organization settings → Members & allowances shows:
Personal accounts do not manage members. Create an organization to invite collaborators.
- Cannot create Projects — Projects are for multi-person collaboration and exist only in team organizations
- Cannot delete the personal account — it remains with your TabTin sign-in
Onboarding summarizes it this way:Use a personal account to explore on your own. Create an organization when you bring a team.
Team organization: a shared space for colleagues
Use a team organization.
How to get one
Create your own
- Click the top-bar organization switcherdropdown beside the organization name or Personal account
- Choose create an organization

Join by invitation
The organization's owner sends an invitation, and you join by accepting it. See How to invite teammates to an organization.
One person can create multiple organizationsand join multiple organizations. Together with the single personal account, they all appear in the switcher.
What a team organization can do
- Invite members — the owner adds people under Members & quotas to add people
- Create Projects — bring people, Agent, docs, and tables together around one initiative
- Organization-wide administration — plans, credits, models, apps, and member AI allowances (most are available only to the owner )
- Leave or transfer — members can leave; the owner can transfer or delete the organization
How to switch identities
The top-bar organization switcher The dropdown contains:
- Personal account — work as yourself
- Each team organization — switch to that team
After switching,Organization settings members, billing, models, and other settings all reflect the currently selected identity.
The organization avatar at the top of the Activity Rail also opens it Organization information.
How billing and resources work
Both account types support all plans and credits, but use them differently:
| Personal account | team organization | |
|---|---|---|
| Plans / credits | For personal exploration | For centralized team billing |
| Member seats | Not applicable (only you) | The plan’s member cap applies |
| Doc / table quotas | Counted for the personal account | Counted for the team organization |
| Bring your own model | Can be configured and kept personal | The owner can configure it organization-widefor everyone to select |
In short:Personal account billing covers your own usage;team organization billing belongs to the team, and the owner buys plans, adds credits, and assigns AI allowances.
Who manages what in a team
- owner — the person who created the organization or received ownership. They manage members, invitations, plans, models, and organization deletion
- Editor — an invited teammate Default role. Can use docs, tables, Agent, and Projects normally, butcannot manage members or organization settings
Older data may still show Admin or Viewer, but new invitations always use Editor, and administrative entry points are restricted to the owner.
Which should I use?
Explore alone and chat with Agent → Stay in Personal account. Write with colleagues, assign Agent, or create team Projects → Create a team organization and invite colleagues. Need both → Keep both: use Personal account for experiments and the team organization for formal collaboration; switch in the top bar at any time.
